Great Expectations

I bought the coffee pot because my old pot from a well known competitor, quit before a year was up and I have always had good luck with Kitchenaid appliances. The only thing is where the filter set, you should raise the lid after you are done with the coffee as it collects moisture and needs to drain down into the pot before the pot can be removed. Not really a problem but I don't want that water to run down onto the hot plate.

Worked great for 2 months

Worked great for 2 months, then started getting really slow. I clean the coffee machine regularly, it made no impact. Now it has started to just make 1/2 pots, I have to turn it off and on again for a whole pot of coffee.

This coffee maker makes a perfect brew! The carafe does not leak or drip when pouring a cup of coffee and the water reservoir is quick to fill and very easy to read. The timer is also easy to set up. Love the automatic shut off also.

Poor customer service

My carafe broke and was under warranty. No replacements in stock and no idea when they would be available. When I pressed, they did agree to sending me a whole unit, but have to go to the trouble of bxing up the old when and ship back. This was only done after I insisted somebody talk to a supervisor. How can you seel a product and not at least keep the carafe's in stock. Unless SO many are breaking that you cabn;t keep them in stock

Leaks all over my counter

I researched coffee makers for a long time. Because my other KitchenAid appliances have been so reliable I decided this coffee maker would be a perfect choice. I've now had it for about five months. It had a minor leak where the top component and base are joined when I first got it which has now progressed to a major leak! If I make coffee the night before, I wake up to a wet counter. The coffee it makes is very good, the temperature is just fine, I'm not thrilled with the 2 hour timer but who wants to awake to a puddle of water on their counter?

I was in desperate need of a new coffee maker. I purchased this model from a discount store. Brew time for a pot we're not referenced. 1- the time to brew a pot is 20 mins for a full 12-cups (Yes there's an option to set the timer and generally I remember but not always) 2- unless you like really dark, rich coffee, don't follow the suggestions for the amount of coffee to add for the # of cups of water you are making 3- everything turns off after 2 hrs, so on those days when you work from home or drink your coffee over the span of more than 2 hrs, just know your warmer turns off and the only way to turn it back on, is to filter more water thru your maker.

Very attractive and easy to use. Pours better than any coffee pot I have ever used. Like the bold setting and easy cleaning of water reservoir and grounds holder. Not as fast as some, nor is the coffee as hot as some coffee makers, but like the fact that it stays hot for two hours.

This coffee pot is beautiful and simplistic which is great when you don't want a huge machine taking up a lot of counter space. BUT, it does not have a keep warm function. It keeps coffee warm for 2 hours and after that time is up you're screwed out of a hot cup of coffee! This is the first coffee pot that doesn't have a keep warm function and I am not someone who can chug down a pot of coffee in 2 hours. I guess you're expected to brew in small batches??? I had really hoped to keep this pot and even tried contacting customer service to see if there is any way to keep the coffee warm that I am not understanding, but reaching someone in customer service wasn't worth the hassle-difficulty reaching an actual human and 20 minute wait times for a simple question?! No thanks. So for these reasons I am returning.

Terrible

We purchased this from Walmart. On the 3rd day of owning this machine, I noticed that the screws holding the basket above the carafe were dripping orange rust onto the top of the carafe. Then, as I poured the coffee it dripped into my cup. My husband took the machine apart and realized that it was built with non-galvanized screws. He replaced them with screws that don't rust. This coffeemaker is most expensive one we've ever purchased but the only one that we had rust. We've now had the coffeemaker for 2 weeks and the coffee still takes like plastic. This machine looks nice and the detachable reservoir is nice, but the coffee is terrible. I'm just upset that we wasted $75 and now I feel like we are stuck with it.

Great, hot cup of coffee

I really enjoy the features. This makes excellent coffee. I just make 2.5c at a time and it is great. I simply pour out grinds a little less than the 4c marker on the filter. The bold option is nice as is the Programmability. It is nice to wake up to coffee waiting on me. It is also wonderful not having to guess when it is done brewing since it beeps to let you know. Speaking of coffee... This pot brews HOT. Hotter than Keurig and hotter than my little 5-c coffee maker. I actually have to wait to drink it so I don't burn myself. Woo! The temperature means this is nicely brewing the grinds and getting all the flavor out of them. As an aside, i really enjoy the grey/silver of the model I bought. It fits in nicely on my counter.

No replacement carafes! Is knocked off easily!

I recently purchased this and liked it until I accidentally knocked the carafe off the stand when moving a dish off of my counter that bumped it. It shattered and I am VERY disappointed to find that I cannot buy a replacement carafe. The design of it makes it very easy to knock the carafe off, because of the 3 way access. Any company that makes a coffee maker like this should have affordable (like less than $20) replacement carafes available. Now I wish I had never splurged for it and stuck with a cheap coffee maker. SOOO DISAPPOINTED!

Finally a Carafe that does not leak!

We had a Cuisinart Coffee maker for about 10 years, and then it just died one day. My husband always complained about how the carafe on it would let coffee dribble down the side of it. To be honest every coffee maker I have every had did the same thing! However, this KitchenAid one is the first one that doesn't do that. I purchased this KitchenAid one at my local Walmart. The price was basically the same everywhere, and we were in a dire need of a coffee maker ASAP. We are against K-cups because of the trash they create and Hubs drinks way too much coffee. However, I did like how those Keurig coffee makers kept the water in a removable water tank. Therefore, that is one feature I like most about this coffee maker. I know this sounds odd, but it is a big deal for us. My hubs always seemed to knock coffee grounds into the water tank of our old coffee maker, which was a pain to try to clean out. I can't say if the Spiral showerhead makes a difference in taste. We grind our own beans so the coffee tastes great to us. So, it does make a great cup of coffee. I like that it can be positioned on the counter either out front or long ways. We have ours long ways up against the back of the cabinet. This seems to help free up work space in our small kitchen.

Nice coffee maker but...

Bought it just one day ago. I wanted a Bunn, but wife is a die hard KitchenAid woman. So I Unpack it and wash it really good. Run a pot of just water through it. Now finally ready for some coffee. Once finished I had a cup and had a funny taste to it. Don't know how to describe it but like a plastic taste or something. Just weird. I poured it out. Looked over the machine really good. All seemed fine so made another pot. Again, same thing. I know it wasn't the coffee because it was a brand new can. Not sure what's going on but luckily I still had my old coffee maker to get me by til I figure it out. Might try some paper cone filters and if that fails then see if I can return it. Even the wife is now against buying kitchen aid products for now. Waste of $70.

Pretty Nice Coffee Maker!!

This is a great coffee maker except for three things, that I will get to in a moment. I would recommend this coffee maker to future buyer. The OMG Pro's: 1. Sleek modern yet iconic Design 2. The Water Reservoir lifts off and fills very easily 3. The Pot pours beautifully - not messy like most other pots 4. Brew a really great coffee 5. Display setup and use is very user friendly The Con's 1. The coffee when done brewing is not has hot as it should be. I have to put my cup in the microwave for a little extra boost of heat - like 12-15 seconds. My now broken and loved Kitchenaid KCM111 brewed a much hotter pot of coffee and kept it hot. 2. The warming plate does not keep the coffee " it's mild hot" for the full two hours. 3. The pot does not have an option to turn the warming plate back on after 2 hours when needed. for the 2 out of three con's it is possible my new coffee maker is slightly defective.

I purchased this coffee machine because it looked good and KitchenAid is normally a great brand. I have cleaned it several times and it continues to leave a plastic taste in my coffee. The other big issue I have it that I can't turn it back on. I have to pour almost the entire pot of coffee out because I can't turn it back on after the auto shut off. I have to make another whole pot of coffee. Would love if someone has an answer to the plastic taste problem.

Warmer problem!

Nice machine and like the color, but the warmer is a pain. I accidentally hit the brew button after making a pot and could not get the warmer to turn back on. Looked through the manual and found nothing. Major flaw when keeping the coffee hot is important. shouldn't be restricted to only have the warmer on when you make a fresh pot. What if you get busy and are unable to finish it within the 2 hours and then need to turn it back to warm it back up!?

my 1st KitchenAid product. Bought it because of gray color to matcth my new kitchen. I'm very happy I did we love out coffee pot. Only thing I would change is it takes a bit to brew. But in your defense I'm used to a Bunn which gives me coffee in 2 minutes

The coffeemaker is working great. The only thing is the coffee has a plastic taste to it. Not too much though.

Wish it had separate heating button. Heating time of 2 hours, too short. Want it to heat all day, if needed.

I love this coffee maker.... I am just unhappy that you can not turn it back on to restart the "keep warm" feature like other makers do.

I had an expensive Breville coffee pot but my husband had trouble using it .wanted a simple coffee pot. This one is very easy to use and makes great coffee.it has all the extra things clock timer also. He is very happy with it and that makes me happy!

I replaced a Cuisinart coffee maker with the KitchenAid 12 cup coffee maker. So happy with the purchase. I love the see through water tank. No guessing if the tank is clean. Quick brew makes my husband very happy in the morning. The color was a little different than what was pictured on the box. Very happy overall with the product.

Lady of the House Loves It

Got this model when our 5th 14-cup model pooped out about 366 days after purchase. Had it about a month now. Takes a bit long to brew than the old one but my wife loves the deep design of the grounds basket which seems to make it highly improbable the basket will clog and overflow. Fingers crossed it'll be longer-lived than its ancestors.
