I bought this blender to replace one that I had for several years. I bought it primarily for use in blending Apple Butter that I make in the crockpot. This blender can puree' the apples and skins right along with them until extremely smooth. Saves a lot of time peeling so much of the apples. I also like the fact that it has 2 speeds. Of course you just need to be careful to not lift the end of the blender above the surface. I have not tried the cup to make smoothies and such yet, but hope to soon. I chose the KitchenAid model since I own a KitchenAid mixer and know the quality is good and it was a good price.

It is easy to use and clean with its detachable mixing head. The two, easy to adjust speeds are just right for all drink mixing needs. The mixing head is just small enough to it into a mason jar or large cup. The clear plastic, marked shaker that comes with it is useful, although I would rather it was stainless, even if it would make it cost a bit more. The plastic shaker will likely crack and be useless the first time it is accidentally knocked on the floor.

2-speed hand blender

I've been using this hand blender for a few weeks now. It does a very good job blending our smoothies with added ice. I do have trouble with attaching and detaching the stainless steel blending arm. If not securely attached it will work loose while blending.

It's easy to set up, use and clean up. It's nicer to blend soup in the pan rather than have the extra mess of transferring to a standing blender. I buy plain yogurt and quickly blend frozen fruits in the container without fear of damaging it. The hand blender is fast becoming a favorite and versatile kitchen must have.
