I was looking for a replacement hand mixer. I decided to give the KitchenAid 9-speed mixer a try. It has so much power. I had a batter that my old mixer would struggle to mix. The KitchenAid mixer mixed it without any problem. The only problem I had was the on-off switch. I think it will just take some time to use it with ease.

Great mixer

I just bought this handmixer recently and I've used it ince so far. I made brownies with it and it worked perfectly! It mixed up the batter no problem. I'll be using it more over the holidays to see how it handles other things. So far I'm impressed with it. Hand mixers usually don't like me, so they stop working fairly quickly. I'm interested to see how long this one holds up for me.

Well Thought-out features and excellent design

I have had this now for a couple months. Both my spouse and I use this at least twice a week and we use the main beaters or the whisk. I will say that we do use the dishwasher to clean them and they have held up so far. She Appsolutely loves that it is so much lighter than our previous machine and that the cord can swivel, I am glad that it can lock out of the way. I also enjoy the soft start for adding flour and the increadible low speed - yet it is so strong, the motor still is able to come to speed through most batters. Larger batters we always just switch over to our 6qt. If anything changes I will update but happy so far.

Everything I have in the kitchen and cookware is KitchenAid and yet again I'm in love with KitchenAid and the KitchenAid refrigerators are the best by the way but the Kitchenaid hand mixer 9-speed is phenomenal and pretty quiet and trucks through any tasks and this KitchenAid hand mixer 9-speed can not be defeated. We have had a 5 speed hand mixer from Kitchen Aid for years, and my wife loves it. However, when the chance came up to upgrade to the 9 speed. we bought it. It is a nicely finished casing, with lots of features and a good number of useful attachments including a storage bag for them. Runs great and will be useful for small batch cooking in the kitchen.

Adequate Replacement for an Older Model

This hand mixer is fine and probably the best one out there in its market segment. I couldn't help but notice a marked reduction in weight from my older model that I replaced. This appears to be primarily due to plastics and other composites in place of what was once metal. This new model also does not have a surge feature to step-up power one notch further over the highest speed.

Horrible Ordering & Customer Service

I tried to order on the Kitchenaid website several times and had the page get stuck at the very end time after time. I discovered that the only way to place an order was by calling customer service. A day after the order my card was charged. All seemed good. A week went by and my order didn't arrive. Then another week. I called customer service and was told that my order had shipped. Another week went by. I called again and was told the same thing. Then they did more checking. It seems my order got lost or stuck in their system. It couldn't be filled and it couldn't be cancelled. In the meantime, the price jumped on the item. Customer service finally called the fulfillment center and had the order filled manually. It took over a month, but I finally got what I ordered. My card ended up being charged twice but one of the charges dropped off before it became an issue. If you are in a hurry, buy from some other source.

I have been wanting a K.A. hand mixer forever. I wasn't sure how much I would use it because my big mixer is on the counter ready to go all the time. I love the power the 9-speed mixer had and it is so light weight. I also love the bag it comes with to hold all the attachments. I have used this a lot more than I thought I would. Kitchen Aid 9-Speed Hand Mixer - Terrible

I purchased this mixer as a replacement for the Kitchen Aid 9-Speed Professional Hand Mixer that I had for any years. The other day, mine made a loud bang and smoke started emitting from the back of the hand mixer. I called Kitchen Aid to see if it could be repaired and they said no, it was too old and they had no parts. I ordered the new 9-Speed Professional Mixer. I used it today for the first time and I hate it. I am a baker so I use the mixer many times a week. I am at a loss to understand why you would take a superior product and redesign it. The controls on this new one are a joke. You have your hands full and try to increase the speed--sometimes it reads it but most of the time it does not. Also, the on and off button is terrible. I hate this products and am totally disgusted that I cannot get the old one fixed and this is after I spent a lot of $$$ to purchase the new one. Buyer Beware.

Sadly, my 10 year old hand/stand mixer (not a KitchenAid product) died making goodies for Christmas this past year. My daughters decided to get me a new (better) hand mixer this year for my birthday. They were having trouble on agreeing on which one to buy, so they gave me a gift card so I could pick my own. I finally decided on the KitchenAid 9-speed (which is exactly the one they were leaning toward). I like its low starting speed that can easily be increased once the ingredients are blended. So far it has handled every job I have given it with no bogging down during the process. I think I am in LOVE.

I had my KitchenAid handmixer for many many years and absolutely loved it! I was thrilled when my daughter presented me with a new one in which I had requested since mine was so old and one of the beaters were slightly bent. I have to say that I am disappointed, thus the three star instead of five. The manner in which you turn it on is almost backwards and the only way to turn it off is the same. Once you turn it on it always starts in a very low speed and you have to push and up button for it to graduate to a higher speed, fromhere youmay turn it off but once you turn it back on, it comes on at a very low speed and you have to push the up button usually several times for the speed of which you were at previously(say you had to pause the mixing). Also, I noticed that the body material is a more hollow sounding plastic. Super disappointed. I told my family I wouldn't have anything less than another Kitchenaid. Hmm...

I got this for Christmas and love it! It's extremely powerful and does a great job from cake mixes to making meat loaf. Easy to use and doesn't throw ingredients out of the bowl like my last mixer. Can't say enough great things about this product!
