I previously had a Jenn-Air microwave/convection oven. My new Kitchen aid is combo oven is much easier to use and does a great job. It is above my wall oven (like a double oven). I think it would be easier to remove food if the door operated like a conventional microwave with a side hinged door or even a cafe door.

Now with just two of us in our home, this is the perfect size and functionality for daily use. We replaced an Over-the-range microwave oven with this appliance during our kitchen reno. The small size convection oven has been used more than the microwave feature! Also really appreciate the extra large capacity and crisper tray. I love this thing. Great one-touch options (lots of stuff is still haven't used). Large capacity. Nice to have the extra convection oven for big dinner parties. Steam sensor function is great. Lots of nice menu shortcuts for preset functions.

I like the Door

Still discovering all the ins and outs of the machine. It takes longer to cook same item as my GE used to do. Just have to adjust to that... assume it is a power thing. I like the door opening down. I thought I would not. I was not aware that the unit required 240 service so I had to hire an electrician to upgrade the service. It had 120 and I think an item like this deserves to be listed in a prominent place.in the literature. Not everyone wants to spend another $500 to run power to a microwave oven!

When I made the purchase, the microwave was out of stock. I really wanted this microwave and was extremely excited to get it! So I waited. It was worth the wait for sure. The door is easy to open, food cooks evenly and well. It has been pretty easy thus far to figure out the features. Very pleased with this purchase. I would recommend having an electrician insure that you have the proper wiring to operate this appliance. It is not a plug in and required additional voltage compared to my old convection micro it was replacing. The old one was a different brand that plugged in behind the cabinetry. This one requires a bit more. Highly recommend. Also want to praise customer service at KA. Had a crisper pan that came as an accessory with this that was bent. They are sending a new one and they were quick to get it ordered for me.

Especially like express "minute" mode on start button. Does a GREAT job in either micro-wave or convection mode. Viewing window could be slightly larger. The oven light needs to be MUCH brighter and the beeper, at end of cooking cycle, could be louder

We just remodeled our kitchen and my husband insisted on this microwave/convection oven. Our children are grown and so the smaller oven has been great when cooking for two. The only reason I did not give this oven a 5 is because when mounted in the wall above the oven it is a little too high for me. The door opens down which makes it really hard for me to reach in. I do miss my door that swings open.

Problems from the Beginning!

This oven needed to be serviced right away due to the control Panel. It has never run right since. It constantly has errors. It always has to be reset. We have had a service person here 3x and the Panel needs to be replaced yet again and they want us to pay $900 because it is now out of warranty. We are not only disappointed with this oven but the KitchenAid Company as well. For over $2000 this appliance should last longer. The company says it doesn't last more than 5 years anyway. Absolutely Ridiculous! DO NOT BUY or must have extended warranty!!

This is the worst microwave oven I ever had. It's only 900 watts. Everything takes longer to heat up, and forget about microwave popcorn. It just does not have enough power to heat things up as most other 1000-watt and 1200-watt ovens do. This oven came with the house I bought, but I'd never opt for a low powered 900-watt oven, not ever. It is almost useless as a microwave.

Installed for a kitchen remodel. Love the built in...above the wall oven. This has great features that make it double as an oven with the convection features.

This is our second Built in microwave by Kitchenaid. We absolutely love this! The technology is an A+! You will definitely not go wrong with this or any Kitchenaid appliance!

My husband probably comments weekly on how much he likes the microwave. We have found the door and height very convenient. Steam cooking is great for leftovers.

Intuitive- really no guessing and generally comes out perfect! Softens butter (or cream cheese) with a simple question answer prompt- all the way to baking cookies - Love this!
