Not as nice as I expected

I had been wanting a more modern toaster to replace the current one which was in good working order - it was from the 70's. The new Kitchen Aid toaster had to be replaced after a few weeks because it wouldn't keep bread in the toasting position- the lever wouldn't stay down. Also, it doesn't shine up and stay clean looking very long . Your company did send a replacement model but not the silver color I originally purchased.

Doesn't toast evenly

I got this toaster about a year ago and have tried multiple different settings and breads to see if I can get even one evenly browned piece of toast. It has yet to happen. I thought I'd give it some time but I continue to have issues and I'm very disappointed with this toaster. I had ordered it thinking a Kitchenaid toaster would be a quality product like their stand mixers but unfortunately it is not.

Clean lines on design look good. Easy to lean.Works great on toast and bagels. It does have a signal that goes off when the toast is done which I find a bit too loud. Can't sneak in any midnight snacks without waking someone else up.

I bought this toaster recently to replace a very inexpensive 4-slice toaster that I had for years. I love the way it looks. However, this toaster burns everything on the very lowest setting. Makes me wish I would have kept my other less expensive toaster. It still worked great - I was just looking to replace it with a more modern, smaller toaster. I am so disappointed. I have always counted on KitchenAid to have high-quality, reliable products. Definitely not the case with this toaster. I would return it except that I threw out the box. I never considered that I would have a need to return it. :(

I have been buying cheap toasters at least 2 a year for the past 7 years. Why I haven't gotten a KitchenAid toaster before this is ridiculous. I love the wide slots, the bagel option, and the beep when the toast is done. It's amazing how that beep has saved me from stone cold toast since I received it. Basic toaster

I bought this toaster because of the brand, but I'm not thrilled with the performance. When using the bagel setting, the darkness dial has to be on 4 to toast to a medium level. When toasting a regular slice of bread, the darkness dial set at 2 almost burns on one side! Also, the toaster takes longer than my previous toaster.

The wonderful customer service at Kitchenaid promptly sent me a new toaster. But sadly, it too over browned at the lowest setting. So I kept my $12 Black & Decker that is 10 yr old. It toasts perfectly at setting 2.5

Bought this around Christmas as our other toaster died after 11 years. Thought we'd go with Kitchenaid since I love my mixer and other small appliances. This toaster does not live up to the Kitchenaid name. Setting 1 is way too light and more like warm bread. Setting 2 is dark and hinging on burnt. Setting 3 is charred. There is no medium setting. Don't know what 4 or 5 would be! Hubby lost the receipt or I'd have returned it right away. Have to use the 1 setting, press it again and watch. Then manually pop it up. Big bummer!

Looks nice but quit working after only a year and a half. Also need to keep on low settings or it burns.

Thus far, our family is enjoying the toaster. I particular like that the toaster doesn't leave hand marks and remains true to it's color without having to wipe it down each and everyone it is touched.

Great toaster

The first time I used this toaster was for frozen waffles for my kids and they were cooked perfectly! In my old toaster I would have to cook the waffles on both sides.
