Purchased Kitchen Aid appliances for our new home. Warming drawer was very expensive, during installation the ball bearing fell out. It has now been over a month and no repair. I has purchased other appliances since but not Kitchen Aid and not at the previous retailer. I am a retired 38 year Army Veteran and have never encountered a company who's product and customer service is so bad.

I have seen this appliance in my friends homes and they swear by it. While undergoing a kitchen remodel we decided to add this appliance to the list. And boy we don't regret it. Keeps food warm as advertised. Has different temperature settings and 2 temperature modes. One for most food and one for dry food. Very roomy and deep. Have used it several times since we bought it. Replaced double oven using oven/microwave combo. Warming drawer filled gap in cut out. Had to install a shelf Over warming oven and order heat deflector before they would install oven. Shelf added Was not flush with face of cabinet which turns out to be ok as the heat deflector fills gap between so you can't see any space. Love the look and happy with decision. Added pic of heat deflector.

It was somewhat hard to install in an existing cabinet. We had the power installed during construction. Knowing that there was a cavity on the right side of appliance would have been good to know. After that things went well. The unit proved to be very useful when entertaining.

This is our first warming drawer and we're so far happy with it. Great value for the money. My only criticism is that the racks scratch us the bottom of the drawer. That seems like something you should have been able to identify and design around. Otherwise, very happy with it!

One of the best features in the kitchen

This is one of the most used items in the kitchen. We use it when we cook pancakes, waffles, rolls, and meats. If has made hosting a house party very easy and it proofs bread like a champ. It would be awesome if it had better moisture control and the ability to add moisture when needed. I am sad that it didn't come in Black stainless steal like the rest of our appliances. Maybe they will have a cover on BSS some day that we can replace it with. We will see. Worth the money and space if you have a large family or if you entertain.

It's handy because I can cook ahead, and not have to do everything at the last minute. It also is very attractive in out kitchen. I have used the warming and the slow cook function, I would suggest that the knob be on the outside rather than having to open the drawer, because the heat escapes when I adjust the knob. When using the slow cooker, I have to cover the pot with foil so I can't peek in without opening the drawer. I love the large size because it holds a lot. However, I love it and will continue to use it because it's very easy to use, and it does the job. I'm so happy we got it.

Drawer slides fell apart

I purchased this same warming drawer approximately 8 years ago and it came with stainless steel pans to use. I recently purchased the same warming drawer and was disappointed when I received it and it didn't include the pans. The fact that you have to purchase the pans now is ridiculous for this price point, they should be included. I love the drawer, but don't want to pay extra for pans. Especially when I purchased so many appliances from Kitchenaid.

Proofing Bread is Easy

Bought as a "space" filler

We had to replace our old microwave/wall oven combo. All of the new units from a variety of brands were approximately 10" shorter than our old unit. This created a problem in that we would have "fill" the hole in the cabinet with something. You can get decorative, custom made plates but they are quite expensive for something that fills a space. We opted to purchase a warming drawer to fill the space and have something we could actually use. Have only had it 2 weeks, but it is roomy and has variable temperature control. It appears to be very well made.

Warming drawer

I bake a lot of bread and the proofer feature is great. I haven't used the slow cooker feature, but plan to do so. It's great to have a warmer that is not the oven

Warn Sunday dinners after church

Our kitchen renovation is complete. Our first Sunday lunch was last weekend. My husband cooks the day before and moves the food to the warmer before we go to church. Nice warm lunch and no rushing to get the food to the table from the microwave.

I just had this warming drawer installed under a KitchenAid wall oven combo, not only does it look great is also makes my cooking/baking center complete. Hosting large gatherings is now much simpler when food can be held for later serving times. The proofing option is fantastic as it makes baking rolls/breakfast rolls a cinch!

Poorly assembled

We received our warming drawer and installed it, only to realize it was crooked. After taking it out and reinstalling - thinking it was an issue with our cabinet - we were completely stumped as it was still crooked. Finally, my husband took the drawer out and and realized the left inside track on the appliance was mounted crooked and approximately 1/2 inch lower than the other side. He had to remove it and drill new holes to make the track sit level. An appliance that costs as much as this does should not require the purchaser to fix shotty manufacturing issues.

Bad smell

This warmer has an odor when it warms up. This smell makes my food taste bad. I was really excited to have a warming drawer but I rarely use it because of this. Very disappointed.

I've always had two ovens and would double up in one for cooking in order to warm table - ready items. I recently added this warming drawer to my tool belt and have found zillion uses for it! Not only do I now have two full-time ovens to use simultaneously, but I also have this ingenious tool for slow cooking ribs, proofing dough, and keeping pizza warm in the box!! Brilliant!
