I bought the Artisan mixer after suffering through a Sunbeam that couldn't beat butter and sugar to make desserts. I was a little nervous to pay that much for a mixer, but I'm very happy overall with the KitchenAid. It is much better at blending and beating ingredients for baking. My only two wishes are that it could come with a smaller bowl for whipping small batches of whipping cream (It has a hard time if you don't make a lot), and that the head could be detached for hand mixing desserts that are made on the stovetop (eg cream puff batter). It is quite heavy, so it needs to stay on my countertop rather than be stored in a cabinet.

I have been holding out on spending a large chunk of change on this product for years now. Once I saw the matte black one though.... I HAD to have it. It matches my kitchen perfectly and it just overall gorgeous. I have used it to make anything from banana bread to shredding chicken. It makes cooking/baking easy! I bought this a few weeks ago to replace the Sunbeam Mixmaster I got for a wedding gift 48 years ago. Although my Mixmaster still worked, I wanted one with a larger bowl and more power. I'm happy with my Artisan mixer so far, although I wish it had come with the Flex Edge Beater instead of the Nylon-Coated Flat Beater--it's a pain to have to flip a switch to tilt the head back in order to scrap the bowl.

Even though I already owned an Artisan Tilt-Head Stand Mixer (in Cobalt Blue) we just did a complete kitchen makeover in whites, satin brass, and punches of bold matte black. When I saw this mixer came in matte black, I couldn't say no - now it's the star of my kitchen and a gorgeous contract to our white marble counters. Planning to swap out the stainless bowl for white ceramic to really pull everything together. I haven't even used it yet, but I'm confident it will work just as well as my cobalt blue!

Great kitchen appliance

I was given this as a gift and it works wonderfully! However, I washed the shield and put on the bowl and I guess there was some moisture because the bowl is starting to rust now.

I bought my mixer back in November of 2018. I have used it so much since then. I had problems receiving it do to the company I ordered it through but that's the only problem I have had. I love my mixer.

Bread Made Easy

I have made bread several times, or rather the dough for bread, I don't actually bake my dough in the kitchenaid, probably void the warranty if I did that. Anyway, back to the topic at hand, it has made making bread dough so convenient. It has the strength to knead the dough so I can work on other aspects while it kneads. My wife has been thrilled with how much rye bread I have been making for her. Lovin' It!!!
