Honestly I can't tell the difference between the referb and new, thanks for a great job. Mixer runs smoothly, a bit louder than my artisan but definitely get the job done. I do all the cooking and baking and use this stand mixer nearly everyday.

Disappointment

I am a third generation Kitchen Aid user and I couldn't be more disappointed in the new Kitchen Aid mixers especially for the price. First of all the motor sounds horrible and weak. I was beating butter and it was struggling. The Flex Edge Beater doesn't fit right and it hits metal to metal at the bottom and the silicone edge doesn't scrape the sides no matter how I adjust it. Also when I registered the mixer it comes up as "refurbished". That's assuring! I spoke with two different customer service reps about it and they assured me it was new but it comes back listed as refirbished over and over. I was a professional pastry chef for many years and have used dozens of different Kitchen Aid mixers and appliances and these new or should I say refurbished mixers are so disappointing. My heart is aching.

I purchased this several months ago for the purpose of making home-made gluten free bread. I have not made any bread as yet, but have made several cakes with great results. I did have to adjust the beater height slightly as it did not reach the bottom of the bowl. It is bigger in size than I thought it would be; luckily, I have a fairly long countertop, but it does take up space. It runs smoothly and will probably last the rest of my lifetime.

Love the mixer. Bowl is huge..no smaller bowls sold to fit. The rating is based on it not being as practical to use as my 5 Professional. However, it is a permanent fixture in my house. Couldn't do without one.

I was driving back to Colorado from California and stopped at the Outlet stores in Nevada, not expecting to find this great deal. I had been wanting a Kitchenaid mixer for ever and was pricing them right before Christmas wanting to treat myself since I do all the cooking/baking. Since buying the 6 Qt I have been baking like a fool and really enjoy not having to mix by hand anymore. This machine is wonderful to use and makes baking so easy. I am not one bit regretful I bought it. Next up are some attachments so I can really put this to the test.

I had no idea the mixer I bought was refurbished. It was sold as if it was new. I'm not sure I would have paid what I did had I known it was not a brand new mixer. I have only used it a few times. Works great! I had a 20+ year old heavy duty lift mixer that I gifted to my daughter when I got this larger professional mixer. This one seems to be a bit louder but I chalk that up to the larger motor size, but now I wonder why it's refurbished?. I hope to get as many years from this one as I have the last.

Just got it last week, used it the other day to make cookies. Worked great! The only reason I knocked a star off was because the plastic shield for the top of the bowl doesn't fit right and is not easy to use to add ingredients while the mixer is running. A minor issue to be sure. Otherwise worked great!
