Solid refrigerator but ice machine stopped

Bought the refrigerator about 5 months ago it was going good until the ice maker stop working. We love the space and quality just a little disappointed the ice machine stop working. When this was working I was happy with the quality of the refrigerator being quiet and the ice machine wasn't as loud. I will be calling this in when I get back from travel overall the refrigerator has been good with our needs. The only reason I'm giving the refrigerator 3 stars is because of the ice machine breaking within 5 months.

Great looking, expensive, and issues

Delivered in Jun. For such an expensive fridge, it is noisy! It has an internal fan that operates while doors are closed and shuts off when opened. You clearly hear the fan start up when a door is closed and it continually whines as if a bearing is bad. Notified Maytag and a repair technician was sent to fix the problem. He stated that the sound is normal and he could not fix it. (Funny, every other electronic item in our house with a fan is completely silent!) Granted, the whine is not excessively loud, just a high pitched sound that is noticeable over all other everyday activities in the living area. Never have experienced this type of noise from a fridge before.

I had my last refrig for 20 years so we were due for an upgrade. It is quiet, even the ice maker, and so roomy. It is easy to keep organized and visualize everything. I love finally having an ice maker and the freezer is quite large with dividers and pull out drawer so I don't have to go digging! No complaints!!

Looks great but beware of deli drawer ice

I bought purchased similar model. MFT2776FEZ00. Looks great and i thought all was fine but soon deli drawer items started freezing and i thought perhaps a small quirk that i would live with but then soon everything kept freezing and pretty soon i could here an ice crunch when shutting deli drawer I took out deli drawer and one huge solid block of ice. I defrosted the refrigerator and within two weeks it started ice build up. I see from other reviews this is not uncommon with this fridge and Maytag had no fix :( i guess i will have to defrost every month or so which i don't think is acceptable

Very Loud Ice-Maker, Sleek design, full featured

We had no choice, our original Maytag refrigerator just up and died, (some sort of sealed system leak - was told it can't be fixed). The only drawback, and it's a major one, is the ice-maker. When dispensing ice, this ice-maker sounds like a jack-hammer ! I would have selected a different brand or model if I new the ice-maker made so much noise. You can hear it from across the house and when someone is getting ice while others are sleeping, the noise from the ice-maker wakes them up! This is ridiculously loud ! A second issue, for me, is that the ice that comes out is half the size of our previous refrigerator. I would never buy this refrigerator again and will not recommend it to anyone else.

STAY AWAY!!!!

I bought this Maytag French door frig 8 years ago and have had water leaking into the bottom of the freezer until it starts pouring out on the floor. After it leaked into my basement ceiling, I started leaving a towel under the frig so I could see the water and get the ice out before it caused major damage. The only solution was to gently tap on the ice after it formed in the bottom of the frig and get it out by scooping it by hand. In addition, the handle on the bottom door came loose and I had to disassemble the door to replace it. Also, the cover to the deli drawer is so flimsy it broke on one side. NOW, I have to buy another frig bc the control panel on the front just quit working last night so I noticed water dripping down the front door when I woke up this morning. Guess what? No part available for this...discontinued. I have grown up with and used Whirlpool and Maytag appliances throughout my life for the last 48 years but something has gone terribly wrong with the quality that made these products household names. I am old school and was taught to take very good care of everything, and I do that ( probably to an extreme). All I can say is I hope this is NOT the new standard for all appliances because I will shop for another brand. If, however, it is the new standard then there really are no standards, which makes this a sad era for America.

My refrigerator was delivered on March 12,2019. I love it however I have an issue which has not been corrected yet. The men who delivered it put a dent in the front of the freezer drawer. They assured me that They would make a notation and that a new drawer would be order for replacement. After about 2 weeks had passed I called to check on the status of our new drawer. I was advised that they had no record of a problem therefore no replacement had been ordered. Order was placed on March 26, 2019 with an estimated delivery date of 6 to 8 weeks. Seems like a lot of unnecessary time to satisfy a customer.

Purchased a very similar Model MFT297AEM on Nov. 12, 2012. It was a beautiful fridge. Perfect size. It had everything we wanted in a refridgerater. Except, we had some issues with this product while it was under extended warranty. Now, March 2019 and it is out of warranty and the second compressor is out. Maytag covers the compressor BUT dictates who will do the repairs which are not covered. No wonder that Maytag did not offer to extend the warranty after ours expired. Being a top shelf Maytag, we thought we were purchasing a quality appliance that should have lasted longer than that.

Love the Fridge but problems

I had this fridge installed about 8 months ago. So far the cooling coil for the refrigerator has completely iced over, so an issue with the evaporator. Now we have an electrical issue with the LED's. We were hoping to get 10 - 15 years out of this fridge, I'm now pretty worried about what is going to happen with it. I'm at the point where I would like to have a replacement fridge as I feel this one is a lemon.

Have had this fridge for almost 2 weeks and love it. I didn't think it was even on when it was first installed as it was so quiet.... It has lots of space for everything.
