Love the Steam Refresh Feature

My old gas dryer died so I was on the hunt for a replacement. I wanted a front load dryer with Steam Refresh feature, and I knew Maytag has a good reputation so I found the perfect match. It dries so much quicker than my old dryer and the controls are so easy to use. I also purchased the pedestal so it's at a perfect height for me. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Terrible dryer

Four months after purchase, the dryer started vibrating and was so loud you could hear it upstairs. Repair man came and replaced the blower vent pipe. He then had to add extra brackets to secure the vent pipe to the unit to reduce the vibration. There was also so much lint inside the blower, obviously the lint trap isn't doing it's job even though it is cleaned after each load. He told me I would have to tear the machine apart and clean the blower out every few months. I should not have to do this with a brand new machine. A week after he made the repair the unit started to vibrate again. I had to put rubber blocks under the machine to eliminate the vibrating. This dryer was designed very poorly and I am very displeased with my purchase.

updated review from three weeks ago....... dryer was supposedly fixed. Had error codes E3 and F3, burning smell and dryer turned off after few min. After part was replaced, still getting E3 and F3 codes and dryer still stops after few min. No more burning smell. This is already a replacement dryer. Returned first for same issues. Exact same issues with the replacement machine. This is a brand new model Maytag offers since early Spring. Clearly there is a big issue. Called Maytag several times they referred me to the local service company. Getting just very bad service all around. I'm requesting a full refund since I do not want to deal with this dryer any longer. I need to have a reliable working dryer out of the box and not a new dryer out of the box that needs immediate fixing and replacement parts. Horrible brand! Stay away from Maytag!!

I bought this dryer a few month ago. was getting error codes, dryer would shut off and leave clothes wet. Exchanged for a new dryer. Exact same issue. Turned out Maytag needed to exchange parts in the control panel. Brand new model and machine! In addition we had this foul smell ever since the dryer was installed. Could not figure out where the smell was coming from. Even opened walls to see if we had a sewage or vent leak. While the dryer was unhooked zero smell. Hooked up dryer again and smell was present again after a few hours. Stay away from this model! Only problems!!!

Loved our Old Maytag; Really want to love this one

We loved our old Maytag washer and dryer set we bought in 2010, but when the washer finally died from a faulty drain pump in April, we upgraded to this dryer and 4.8 cuft washer pair. First couple weeks were great, but the dryer started flashing a sensor error code and smelled like it was burning. I am now on hold with Maytag's special "safety team" for about 45 minutes. Really hoping this gets resolved as I really want to like it.

Our old dryer was fine, but I hated the thought of mismatched washer and dryer because it's so visible in our house. I'm happy we made the investment in this steam dryer. I love the 15.5" pedestals with drawers. I wish the salesman or the first set of installers had mentioned that the dryer needs a water hose and special connector in order to make steam, and that the 10" pedestals have no drawers. The third set of installers finally got things right. As soon as I forget the annoyance of waiting around three separate times, I know I will love this large, smart dryer even more!
